just watch – Darren is going to have a couple of seats that are not filled in a few of the shows during his three-month run and haters will call him a flop. A couple of not so good reviews and he will be  a failure. A couple of flat notes and they will say he’s blacklisted for Broadway and will never be seen or heard from again. And when they are confident that it is over for Darren, he will be casted into something bigger that they will have to start all over again.

What kind of lifestyle would each sign prefer?

• Aries: would be prefer a life where their actions have the most gentle of consequences, where their dreams are in reach and each new day sparks a new adventure. But also one at the end of the day they can turn in to a relaxing night and a comfy bed, content with the little things, and maybe someone next to them.
• Gemini: would prefer a life where they can do as they please and not be judged for it. Where they can be a scientist one day and an actor the next. A life they actually feel a part of instead of just an observer.
• Taurus: would prefer a life where their worries always work themselves out, with minimal effort. They have simple wants, needs, and pleasures, if only their problems could be handled the same. They want a life where their important things are close, and can fall asleep with a smile on their face.

I love languages, languages are a big, big, big hobby of mine. It’s what I do in my free time. You know, a lot of people..I love video games but I always tell people that my video games are language books. I really enjoy keeping up with my italian, um, my french is really shitty but I enjoy, you know, stupid things that we hated when we were kids like grammar workbooks. I really enjoy doing those, like french conjugation. […] Well it’s fun for me cause it’s like, it’s puzzles to me, it’s language puzzles cause I love words, I love languages. I just like learning as many things as possible. In the past two years I kind of dived into japanese and chinese, which is crazy, and I’m not saying I’m gonna be fluent or anything, it’s just a fun exercise to keep your brain challenged. It’s fun to see something and have no fucking clue what it means, but it’s cool because then you go « okay cool, well, I can get there », you know? Human beings are smart, we can get there, it’s a cool challenge to, just to try and understand everything that you can’t understand. I love that. So languages a really really great hobby for me. It’s like music.

That probably was my favourite thing that Darren used to do. The thing that I think he does the best, is write music. He’s like an absolute genius. He’s the best. And in college he would always sit around with his guitar. Darren was like an awkward guy. At party’s and stuff, and he doesn’t really talk to people, so he plays his guitar. And Darren would just constantly be making up songs about people were in the room with him. And when I lived with Darren, he had a piano set up and I would just making spaghetti and Darren would sing a song going: Nick’s making spaghetti. Just making up songs and that was a great thing.

Not for now. I mean, there was so much going on and I know a lot of people are curious about the music that I do. I mean I really like writing music for other people and letting them do their own thing and I’ve done so much over the past couple of years that I just need to be an actor again because, you know, Glee was the longest I’ve ever done a job, ever. It’s kind of crazy. Doing theater my whole life, you know you’re in a show for two months tops, and then you go on to the next thing. So, I’m used to going back and forth, so to do the same thing for five years, it’s a little, I don’t know how to translate this but, taxing? It takes a lot out of you, so I just really wanted to be an actor again and just put all my energy into that. So I imagine I’ll be doing a lot of that. And if the music thing happens, okay, that’s fine, but I just wanted to take a break from that because acting is so important to me that I needed to really pay attention to that. Yeah, so we’ll see, I don’t know, but Hedwig first. First things first!

I watched John Cameron Mitchell do Hedwig.  Poor Darren.  That score will cream him.

And yet John Cameron Mitchell himself hand selected Darren for the part. After seeing him in How to Succeed. JCM called Darren a natural. But what does JCM really know about Hedwig anyway?

I’m so waiting for the opening night when Darren will finally blow all your fucking heads away.
